Applications will be made via the portal at https://auportal.bakircay.edu.tr/. Create an Application Form by filling in the requested information on the portal, print the form and sign the relevant section, have the company you will be applying for IME stamp and signature and add it to the portal as a PDF. Have the Company sign the Protocol you will receive from our website and add it to the portal as a PDF. Add the Entitlement document you will receive from your e-government to the portal as a PDF. (Fill in your insurance status by looking at this document as Entitled/Not Entitled) Add your current transcript to the portal. Send it and wait for the internship committee to approve it. You can receive an information e-mail after it is approved, if you do not receive an e-mail, you can follow the approval status from the portal.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Students who apply for IME must review the application and ECTS requirements and apply. In order to apply for IME, the student must not have a face-to-face course that requires attendance. Online courses are not included in this scope. Another thing to consider is the ECTS limit. Students must be able to take the Vocational Education in Business course during the period they will do IME. Applications of students who cannot or have not taken the Vocational Education in Business course during course selections will be considered invalid.

•  The interim report and implementation report must be submitted in a spiral binder.
•  Each page of the interim report and implementation report must be stamped and signed as specified in the template.
•  When submitting the interim report and implementation report, the workplace evaluation form must be submitted in a sealed envelope where the student cannot see it.
•  When submitting the interim report and implementation report, the IME monthly scorecard form must be submitted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: The instructor is not an electrical and electronics engineer. Does this cause a problem?

Answer: The engineering fields specified in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department Internship Procedures and Principles are accepted. Electrical, Electronics, Electrical-Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Communication (Telecommunication), Computer, Software, Energy, Energy Systems, Control or Control-Automation Engineer instructors are accepted.

Question: How many people must be working at the place where IME is performed?

Answer: The number of employees at the institution where IME is performed must be 5 or more.

Question: I want to do IME in the spring semester. Can I do IME if I have a retake course in the fall or spring semester?

Answer: In order to do IME, the student must not have any courses that they have not taken in the spring semesters or that have compulsory attendance from the previous semesters. Courses that have not been failed in the spring semester and that do not have compulsory attendance do not prevent IME. Similarly, any or more retakes from the fall semester, whether or not attendance is mandatory, are not obstacles to doing IME.

Question: What is the CGPA requirement for doing IME?

Answer: Students whose Weighted General Grade Point Average (CGPA) is at least 2.00 and who are deemed appropriate by BUEK to do IME can register for the IME course in the first semester after meeting the requirements.

Question: Who are the Business Representative and Educational Personnel in the Preliminary Application Form?

Answer: Business Representative represents the person who signs the IME protocol on behalf of the Business and requests students, Educational Personnel: The person who knows and applies vocational training in the Business where Vocational Training is provided in the Business and is assigned by the Business Representative to be responsible for the training of students. The Educational Personnel must have one of the engineering titles accepted in the Internship Procedures and Principles.
